Crabs are the best sea food with very low mercury levels.In Andhra Pradesh “yeti peethalu ” are the famous variety , which are from the river water.
Ingredients:
Crabs: 1 kilo,cleaned and cut in to pieces
Onion-2 medium,chopped
Tomatoes-2 medium,chopped
green chilies-3,slit lengthwise
Ginger Garlic paste-11/2 tbsp.
Coriander leaves-1 bunch,chopped
Turmeric powder-1/4 tea spoon
Red chili Powder-1 tbsp.
Finely grated or grounded coconut-1 small cup
Garam Masala Powder-1 tbsp.
{ Instead of garam masala powder we use the below
Cinnamon Powder-5 pinches
Cardamom powder-2 pinches
clove powder-5 pinches }
Coriander Powder-2 tbsp.
Tamarind paste-1 tbsp.,diluted in a cup of water.
salt-to taste
Oil-5 tbsp..

Procedure:
We can use a cooker to make this dish fast.Instead you can also use a kadhai with a lid but it will take longer.
Now take a cooker pan or kadhai,heat oil and add curry leaves,slit green chilies,chopped onions and fry for a while.after the onions are transparent add ginger garlic paste and saute until the aroma comes .Add crab pieces and fry for 3 or 4 minutes.add all the masala and grated coconut, chopped coriander.mix well .Add chopped tomatoes.
Add tamarind juice.adjust the salt.Close the cooker lid and reduce the flame to medium low.wait for 4 whistles ( if u r not using the cooker then cook it with lid until the crab gets cooked on a low flame but this may take long ). After u open the cooker ,if you find it liquidy then put the cooker pan(without lid) on high flame and get the desired consistency. Hence the final Product is crab Masala or peethala koora.
