This rice dessert is usually made on festive occasions in Andhra region.
Ingredients:
Rice-1cup
Milk-4 to 5 cups
Cardamoms-3to 4
Jaggery-1 cup (or according to u r taste)
Raisins-According to availability
Cashews-few
Clarified butter-1or 2 tbs
Preparation Method:
Grate or powder the jaggery and keep it aside. Crush the cardamoms and keep them aside.
Heat the clarified butter and fry the raisins and dry fruits.. Keep them aside.
Wash the rice and soak it in 1 cup of milk for at least 15 minutes in a vessel that you r going to use for cooking, so that the rice won’t stick to the pan.
Now put the vessel on a medium flame and cook for 5 minutes and add another cup of milk and stir. Again cook for 5 to 7 minutes and add another cup of milk and stir. Likewise add the milk while stirring. After the rice is completely cooked…add the jaggery and mix well. Now add the cardamom and fried dry fruits and raisins. The dessert is ready.
